The mowing season is coming!
Temperatures rise and the frost disappears. That means that the mowing season is coming again! GIANT has now temporarily both the flail mower and the flail mower with collector on stock.
Flail mower
The flail mower offers the driver a very good view on his work. The mower is available in three different working widths and can be used both for mowing lawns tight as rough terrain. For optimal performance are different flails available for the mower. Additionally, you can mount loose verticutting blades between your flails. These blades hit the moss from your lawn and make a slit between the grass. This allows the lawn to breathe. As standard, the mower is equipped with the so-called “Y” flail blades.
The mower is powered by a hydraulic motor. This is connected to the double acting hydraulic valve on the lifting arm. The hydraulic motor requires an oil input of 35 to 40 liters per minute. This makes the mower suitable for all GIANT models. A leakage oil connection is not required, but recommended. The pressureless return ensures that the hydraulic oil doesn’t have to go back through the valve to the oil reservoir, so the heating of the oil is limited. For intensive long-term use, we recommend a double gear pump on your GIANT.
Flail mower with collector
The flail mower with collector offers besides the functionalities of the flail mower, that grass rests, leaves, branches and/or manure is sucked into the collector. This will keep your lawn or meadow clean and fresh. Also for the flail mower with collector are several blades available.
The flail mower with collector is available in cutting widths of 1,20 meters (700 liters collector) and 1,60 meters (900 liters collector). On the attachment is a heavy hydraulic motor mounted, that drives flail shaft hydraulically. The high rpm of the shaft creates a suction effect, making the grass, leaf debris and even manure is sucked into the collector. The high speed also creates a tightly mown lawn. In the frame are two slotted holes allowing the flail mower has freedom of moving, in comparison to the base frame. A chain between the frame and the wheel loader enables the lifting of the mower. The collector can be discharged by a second double-acting hydraulic function in front of your wheel loader. In addition, a leak-oil connection is required. Optionally there is a tine bar in front of the mowing unit, enabling the flail mower to function as paddock cleaner as well.
